The city of Glenrose has invited the club to come out and be a part of the moonshine raid festival. The city used to host this event every year but it's been over a decade since it last happened and this year is the 100th anniversary of the event and they are wanting to do it up big. Again the festival will have all the typical festival attractions such as arts, crafts, and food but this event will also have a reenactment of the moonshine raid and following shootout. Moonshine still displays, moonshine tastings, a whisky walk, a BBQ cook off, and bootlegger ball. The oldest building in town will also have a moonshine exhibit inside. They are encouraging people to dress in period attire and old time photos will also be onsite. The full itinerary of this event is still being worked out and the meeting time and location will be discussed at a later date. They are wanting to put the cars on display and they are going to provide the club lunch. It should be a fun day with a very different feel than your normal festival.

Pilot Point, Texas, was the location of the filming of the famous bank robbery scene in the 1968 movie, Bonnie and Clyde, starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Additionally, Pilot Point (and neighboring towns and counties) were actually the stomping-grounds of Bonnie and Clyde and their cohorts, as well as other well-known outlaws including the James Gang, the Younger Brothers, Quantrill’s Raiders and others.
